Garden Homes at Shunfu.

Return, to wonder.

Located between MacRitchie Reservoir and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, lies the asian garden wonder that is Jadescape. Rich with lush green landscapes and crafted crystal clear waterways, waterside hanging pavilions and glass greenhouse dining areas. Come home to resort like getaways in the center of Singapore.

Formerly known as Shunfu Ville by Housing and Urban Development Company (HUDC) that was put up for tender for an asking price of $688 million ($791psf per plot ratio). Qingjian Realty put up an enbloc offer of S$638 million to its owners – a first enbloc purchase by Qingjian Realty in Singapore.

Shunfu Road, where the former HUDC Shunfu Ville was, is comfortably located in Bishan New town – a developed residential area found in northern most portion of central region of Singapore. Bishan shares a boundary with central water catchment in the west and three planning areas which are Ang Mo Kio to the north, Toa Payoh to the south and Serangoon to the east.

This modern Bishan was once belonged to Kwong Wai Siew Peck San Theng cemetery for the hakka and cantonese communities of Singapore. After the construction of the cemetery in 1870, the first human settlement started and was called Kampong San Teng. In the battle of Singapore in 1942, Peck San Theng hosted a ferocious fight between the invading Japanese forces and the defending British. Peck San Then became a place for refuge for the Singapore population after the island fell to the Japanese. In 1973, Peck San Thang stopped the process of burial and were granted a lease from the government as the land was attained for development. Graves made way for land development between 1982 and 1984 making the new Bishan Town. Peck San Thang was then converted into a columbarium, still remains in function.

Bishan Town was first in the country to relieve itself from the design seen in the former HDB towns. Apartments built within this town varies from one another, separated and dislocated from one another unlike the previous blocks made in non-fluctuating rows and had slab-like structure. Pitched roofs are of a consistent feature of the apartments in town making them closely connected with the skyline of Bishan. Catholic High and Raffles Institute are Singapore’s two most prestigious schooling institutes taking refuge in this very same town.
